The blueprint for each casefilm. Based on the briefing and all the available content Casefilm.nl produces a drawn, digital or moving storyboard. We take a close look at the original brief, the insight and in what ways it influenced its target audience.
Because our Art directors are all former jury members, for national and international award festivals, they know what works and what doesn’t.
When the storyboard is final our copywriters will start writing the text for the voice-over. They are all former jury members and therefore they know what to highlight and how to write a convincing voice-over text.
The copywriter also records his own voice-over first to see if it works with the edit or moving storyboard. In this way it is easy to adjust and it saves money on studio costs. When there’s a final go, we enter the studio to record the real voice-over.
When the edit is final the voice-over will be recorded. Casefilm.nl gives you a selection of voice-overs. It depends on your wishes and the look and feel of the casefilm what kind of voice we will select. Dark, light, funny, serious, male, female, anything is possible.
Of course Casefilm.nl also arranges the recording in a professional studio.
This element really brings the casefilm to life. You can choose stock music or an existing track or song. A casefilm is in most cases non-commercial and for internal viewing purposes only so than it doesn’t have any royalty issues.
In case of an infographic it is more common to compose a customized track. Since Casefilm.nl has a large network of composers and musicians this is also something that can be arranged.
In most casefilms we see the, almost traditional, sequence of ‘challenge, insight, concept’ and ‘results’ at the end to highlight how effective the campaign was. Motion graphics is used to make these chapters look better and to give them the same look and feel as the campaign.
Motion graphics are also used to give illustrations or other graphic components more impact and power.
This is where it all comes together. The storyboard and the text for the voice-over is leading for the first edit. This, in most cases, results in a moving storyboard. To see if everything works as it should and to determine the flow and tempo. According to us the most ideal length of a casefilm is 90 seconds (1,5 minutes). If it’s longer, the chance of keeping the full attention of the jury is very small.
In some cases not all content is complete. When a good packshot is needed or an image of campaign material we have several photographers in our network with their own studio. They all work for advertising agencies so they’re familiar with the ins and outs.
In most cases you know in advance that there are elements that will be needed in a casefilm. Then it is always a good thing to contact Casefilm.nl in an early stage and make sure we are around with a camera or two.
Because we know what works in a casefilm, we know exactly what to film and how to capture the right elements. For example the reaction of bystanders or the effect a guerrilla campaign has on the target audience.
